As a creative director, Kym is eager to guide and learn from team members to uncover what consumers and customers love most about that brand. She is an art director by trade, but admires a great story — whether it unfolds in broadcast, social, retail, via app, an event or in B2B channels.

Kym’s 20+ years as a creative in Minneapolis have taken her from the global giant BBDO to independent and fast-growing agencies like Olson, to the in-house brand division at Mayo Clinic. At Mayo Clinic she partners with multiple stakeholders and business units — including enterprise brand partnerships, Mayo Clinic Health System, International brand marketing, COVID response and the Executive Office. Prior to her in-house experience, she enjoyed 14 years creating work for Periscope’s clients that evolved the agency into one of the most creatively diverse and largest independent agencies in the nation. She has put her passion-telling craft to use for brands such as Caribou Coffee, Andersen Windows, Ferrara Candy Company, United Way, Miracle Ear, Rust-Oleum, Gillette Children’s, Dollar General, Hormel, Buca di Beppo, Cargill Nutrena, United Healthcare, Bronson Health, Allianz, and UV vodka. She loves helping shape new talent — as well as learning from them. She has been recognized for her work by Communication Arts, Graphis, AdFed, AIGA and PRINT among others.

Kym holds a degree in Mass Communication—Advertising and Graphic Design from Winona State University and completed post-graduate studies at Brainco Minneapolis School of Advertising. She has a young daughter, a Great Dane and always has a rescue foster dog around.

Kym loves using craftmanship in her personal life too, especially when it involves creating epic Halloween costumes — if you are searching for inspiration, you may find photos of her daughter’s past costumes shared on Pinterest and Reddit.
