Target asked Hormel to develop a premium private-label beef brand for them. We created Sutton & Dodge, steakhouse quality angus beef. We were responsible for identity, brand guidelines, product labels, packaging, advertising, launch ideas, retail fixtures, companion products and sales materials.

While Hormel is a trusted name in quality meats, Target was facing tough competition from other grocery stores with premium-branded beef cuts. To maintain their shelf presence, Hormel needed to deliver a similar product and within 3 months. After some tasty research we leaned into the trusting relationship that a steakhouse chef has with his butcher, and created Sutton & Dodge.
